Tushara & Michael said “I Do” yesterday at Immaculate Conception followed by a reception at Bell Harbor. They focused on fusing together their Armenian & Indian cultures and chose a palate to emulate the sunset, with warm toned roses, pink and orange sarees, and clementines scattered throughout the flowers. The team absolutely crushed it and it was such a joy to get to document this day alongside such an amazing crew ❤️

Yesterday’s epic backyard wedding on Bainbridge Island was a dream. After we got back from portraits, the dance floor was wide open with no one around, so we went to see where everyone had gone. Low and behold everyone was down on the beach, so we decided to scrap the first dance and do a first row boat instead 🚣🙌

Photographing weddings always feels like a balance between art and reality. I want to capture the memories, the moments, the candid and unscripted, but I also want to find the art, capture the beauty, and turn all of that into a gallery that showcases the day. These images, from a recent styled shoot, gave me the opportunity to lean into the creative, artistic, editorial side of weddings, where you don’t have to worry about timelines, or moments missed while capturing portraits. While I love navigating the balancing act of always being on the lookout for both, it’s always a fun break to get to be in a space with creatives to just explore and create.
