Vera and Matt were married on a gorgeous fall day at Planet Bluegrass in Lyons, Colorado. Complete with silos, a reception barn, apple trees and a ceremony space right next to a creek, this is one of my favorite places to photograph. We took full advantage of all it had to offer (all 20 acres of it!) for this Planet Bluegrass wedding.
This wedding had so many unique touches that made it completely personalized to the couple. Vera and Matt are beer lovers, so they incorporated beer throughout their day. Right after they signed their marriage license, their wedding planner, Lilli, brought over their favorite beers for a cheers photo. They continued this theme into their seating chart for dinner. Each table had a wooden sign with the name of a brewery on it. Instead of having numbered tables, they were identified by a Colorado brewery. At the end of the night, the groomsmen even shotgunned a beer before the exit! Another fun element was their twist on the typical wedding cake. Instead of having a cake, they had ice cream! So, instead of having a cake cutting, they each got ice cream cones and got to feed each other ice cream. I even saw the ice cream employees breaking loose on the dance floor, which made everyone laugh.
When I think back to this day, I remember how relaxing it felt. The day seamlessly transitioned from one thing to another with no haste and Vera and Matt were relaxed and joyful the whole day. Sweetly Paired did an excellent job not only designing this Planet Bluegrass wedding, but also planning the day in a way that left ample time for each event.
I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this Planet Bluegrass wedding and look forward to my next wedding there! For more Planet Bluegrass photos, click here!
