Being a wedding photographer might well be one of the best professions. Not only do we get to attend amazing weddings, but we also often get to attend networking or industry events orchestrated by the same amazing individuals who plan the epic weddings. This event was one of those very occasions. Shooby Doo Catering hosted their annual wedding planner luncheon at Parties on the Terrace, a Redmond wedding venue, with a Kentucky Derby theme, and the title of, “Off to the Altar”. Complete with spring hued linens and pops of color in the florals, I got to document all of the incredible details plus the candid moments once all the planners arrived.
Parties on the Terrace was the wedding venue hosting the event and made for the perfect backdrop for a derby garden party. Their property made me feel like I was in a private estate with their manicured lawns, hanging chandeliers in the trees, string lights, and multiple fireplaces throughout the venue. They had multiple ceremony spaces as well as ample indoor and outdoor space for ceremonies and receptions. As someone who grew up with a large backyard, it had a nostalgia that made it feel homey at the same time as feeling elegant and well thought out.
Some of my favorite touches included the cake sampler as a guest take home gift, of course, the colorful florals gracing every table and creating a arch on the patio, and all of the hats that guests were invited to wear given the Kentucky Derby theme. We had an incredible team come together for this event, and I am so happy that I got to work alongside them to bring this to life.
