Exciting news! Our “Modern Autumn” styled shoot that took place at Space Gallery (in Denver) was published today on Couture Colorado! When I was first thinking about putting together a styled shoot, I knew it had to be during the fall. There is nothing better than an autumn afternoon in Denver. The perfect temperature, warm breeze, changing colors of the trees and the beginning of the holiday season make it the best season of them all.

The process of organizing a styled shoot is all about networking…it’s all about who you know! I first reached out to Andrea, an old friend and owner of Laurel & Ivory. She has an excellent eye for detail and her lettering work is phenomenal! We brainstormed a modern, autumn-themed shoot at an art gallery with pops of copper and fall colors. From there, I reached out to my hairstylist, Kaitlin, and Andrea reached out to her good friend Diana who was our makeup artist. Then, we spoke with Space Gallery who was the amazing gallery that hosted us. I had been to Space Gallery a few times before to photograph weddings, and was always impressed with the wide open space and always changing artwork.

We partnered with our florist, Jeannine, who helped us achieve our modern, whimsical and warm toned bouquet, center pieces and boutonnière. Next, we reached out to Coleen at Plank & Pearl who provided the plates, silverwear, glasses, goblets, cake stand and all of the amazing copper elements that helped us tie everything together. We were amazed with her selection, not only of copper elements, but of goblets, chairs, sofas, dining wear, and adorable knick-knacks. Coleen recommended we reach out to The Diamond Reserve to get our jewelry and beautiful diamond ring, and Kaeleigh, the ring designer, did not disappoint! I reached out to Julia at Blue Bridal after being by the boutique a few times before for other shoots. She helped us find a unique, whimsy and modern dress that fit our theme perfectly. Last, after surfing on Instagram I found Cassie with Cassie’s Confections who blew me away with her stunning wedding cakes! In my search, I also found Tate who owns The Wright Details and made our amazing cake toppers.

I couldn’t believe that I had everything in place for the shoot! And I couldn’t believe that everyone had agreed to help me achieve my vision!

Working with these vendors was a treat. Everyone was so kind, helpful, supportive and talented. I feel so honored that I was able to photograph this collaboration and hope I get to work with these incredible people again!
