Karli & Nick were married on a sunny Colorado day filled with their closest friends and family. With a ceremony at Cheeseman Park and a reception at Grant Humphreys Mansion, the couple got to experience two gorgeous downtown Denver wedding venues in one day.
Karli & Nick began getting ready at Grand Humphreys Mansion where our coverage began. After photographing getting ready, we got Nick set up on the balcony for their first look. The intricate architecture of the mansion and the vibrant green trees in the background made for a perfect spot for a first look. Karli even had an emotional first look with her dad after her first look with Nick was complete.
We then traveled in a bus to Cheeseman Park to take wedding party photos before the ceremony. We took advantage of the shade provided by the large linden trees for even light and even photographed a few shots of Karli in the rose garden. One of the many benefits of using Cheeseman Park for photos is the versatility it has. The white columns from the Pavilions, rose garden, multiple benches and the shady trees make for perfect photoshoot stops.
The ceremony began and within the first few minutes there were fits of laughter and moments for tears. Laughter for Karli & Nick’s ring bearer nephews wandering around after walking down the aisle not knowing where to go, and tears as Karli walked down the aisle with her emotional parents.
The couple wanted to make the day special and personal to them, so they asked Karli’s uncle to play guitar at the beginning of the ceremony and as she walked down the aisle, as well as while the two walked back down the aisle.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the gorgeous light for family photos and portraits of the bride and groom. Then we hopped back on the bus and returned to Grant Humphreys Mansion for the cocktail hour and reception.
To make the day more personal to them, Karli and Nick invited their favorite cover band, Nothing but Nineties, to play for their guests. With 90’s music in the background, the two were announced onto the patio of the mansion and received with applause and cheers. The guests mingled until a clap of thunder and the beginning of a rainstorm brought everyone indoors for dinner and toasts.
The evening ended with Elite Entertainment keeping the dance floor packed all night long in the basement of the mansion. With the music still bumping, our coverage ended and we left Grant Humphreys Mansion happy to have been included in such a beautiful Denver wedding.
