Aubrie and Blake had a beautiful summer wedding at River Bend in Lyons. The River Bend wedding venue is on the just across Main Street from Planet Bluegrass, another Lyons wedding venue with similar features. They both have access to the North Saint Vrain Creek and the beautiful mossy rock walls that surround it, but River Bend has a more intimate feel and has unique features like a getting ready yurt and access to tiny houses. These tiny houses are a part of The Wee Casa Tiny House Resort and are on the same property as the venue. We even took photos next to the tiny house Aubrie and Blake stayed in on their wedding night!
Not only was their venue unique, but Aubrie and Blake also incorporated other unique elements into their summer wedding. For one, the couple made their own wedding backdrop with white flowers and white paper cones that they strung through fishing line. They hung these from the overhead string lights to give them a unique wedding arch. Another unique element was utilizing a food truck for their wedding food, instead of having a caterer. The tables were released to go to the food truck and order their meals, instead of walking through a buffet line. All of the guests raved about the food and loved how different it was from other weddings.
Some of my favorite photos from the day are during Aubrie and Blake’s reception. The reception started with their first dance on the recessed dance floor. Featuring the creek and beautiful mossy rock wall with twinkle lights above, it was the perfect spot for an evening slow dance. My favorite was when guests started a fire in the fire pit and made s’mores. I had never seen a fire pit at a wedding, and it was fun to watch couples head over to toast their marshmallows and check out the moon.
