It’s funny how life comes full circle. I first met Annie & Ian while working at The Melting Pot in Old Town Fort Collins, in college. Fast forward four years later to a completely different state, where we met again for this Seattle engagement session.
As a travel fanatic, I love photographing weddings and engagements outside of Colorado. The weekend of this engagement session, I was in Seattle photographing a destination wedding, which created the perfect opportunity to meet up with Annie & Ian for photos.
We organized a time to meet just outside of Seattle at the Belleuve Botanic Gardens. While we had originally planned to meet at Gas Works Park to utilize the urban landscape, the giant festival Seafair taking place right next door threw off those plans. We shifted gears from urban, colorful architecture to more natural surroundings at the garden, and I couldn’t have been happier with our decision. The Botanic Gardens proved to be an ideal location, with its lush landscape, vibrant flowers and beautiful light.
If you are looking for locations for a Seattle engagement session, I would highly recommend venturing out of the city to visit the Belleuve Botanic Gardens. Not only is there no entrance fee, but when we arrived, (about an hour before sunset), there were very few people in the gardens. As a photographer, that means less times that you have to edit people out!
It was so fun being able to reconnect and catch up while I photographed their engagement photos. I can’t wait for my next trip to Seattle!
