Seattle Tennis Club Wedding
Joy, humor, and style collided during Tess & Tristan’s wedding weekend. From constant smiles, to Tristan’s jokes, and endless guest fashion, these two pulled of an incredible series of events including a camp styled welcome pool party, an elegant rehearsal dinner at The Seattle Asian Art Museum, and last, the incredible Seattle Tennis Club wedding day.
We began the day getting ready at the Seattle Tennis club, starting first with details and continuing with the candid getting ready shots. Tess had her makeup done by Jen Lagers while her Vivianne Westwood gown hung in the doorway, while Tristan finished writing his vows while his groomsmen drank beer and tied their bowties. After their first look, we all loaded up to go to their ceremony spot, Villa Academy in Laurelhurst, a gorgeous, ornate church with a perfect balcony to capture the ceremony from a view above.
Guests entered the arched doorway complete with an abstract arrangement of cream hydrangeas arranged by Norther World, and saw them out on the steps outside with ribbons in hand. As the getaway car with Tess & Tristan headed back to Seattle Tennis club to get on a boat for a quick ride around Lake Washington, we also headed back to get a head start on reception detail photos.
Under the giant white tent on the Seattle Tennis club lawn, we began photographing the long white tables with green florals, including grapes, that adorned the center. The couple had even designed a T&T logo that stood prominent at the top of every guest’s menu. Guests began migrating from the indoor cocktail hour to the outdoor tent, drinking bright orange Aperol Spritz and snacking on passed appetizers. As Tess & Tristan’s boat docked, guests began to cheer as they had their grand entrance into cocktail hour. With lots of hugs, selfies, and clinking glasses, everyone moved under the tent to settle in.
Tess & Tristan danced their first dance with Blue Wave Band serenading them, followed by an incredible meal, speeches, and then, my favorite part, open dancing. While the dance floor opened, Tess & Tristan iced cinnamon rolls instead of cutting a cake, and joined their guests for two hours of a jam packed dance floor. In all my years of photographing weddings, I had never seen a more consistently packed dance floor with guests having such a great time.
As the band played their last song, I photographed my famous late night flat lay, and said goodbye to the incredible vendors & couple who made this day what it was. Special thanks to Sarah Anne Photo for having me shoot the pool party & Seattle Asian Art Museum rehearsal dinner, and second shoot the Seattle Tennis club wedding.
