Three Sisters Park in Evergreen is one of my favorite spots for Colorado engagement photos. There is a nice boardwalk, open fields and a multitude of rock formations. I’ve even run into deer a few times (including this engagement shoot). The funny part about this shoot was that this wasn’t the initial location.
Andrea and Anthony are great friends of mine. We went to CSU in Fort Collins together and I was in a sorority with Andrea. While these two have been my models for multiple styled shoots, it was fun to get to capture their actual engagements. On their way up to Sapphire Point, our original location, they called and said that they were running behind and didn’t know if they could make it to Dillion in enough time before the sunset. Luckily, I was already in Evergreen and suggested Three Sisters Park as an alternative location. Andrea and Anthony agreed to the new location and headed that way. I was able to arrive early to scout out my favorite spots and a few new ones.
It all worked out perfectly and we even had the whole place to ourselves. The only living beings who passed by were some deer toward the end of the session.
We photographed all over the park and only ended the session because there was no light left in the sky. Shooting from golden hour to sunset and then blue hour (what they call the time after the sun has gone down), we were able to capture a ton of variety.
Alderfer/Three Sisters Park is a great spot for Colorado engagement photos, but my other favorites include Lost Gulch Overlook in Boulder, and Maxwell Falls in Evergreen. If you’re looking for urban engagement photos in Denver, the RiNo area, Santa Fe Arts District area and Union Station are my favorites!
