We’re back in one of my favorite places to shoot, the RiNo Arts District! As a Denver wedding photographer, I love any opportunity to photograph downtown, and I was ecstatic when Jeremy & Keller wanted photos with all of the amazing murals in RiNo. This Denver LGBT engagement was one of my favorites because of the amazing energy these two had, as well the variety we were able to capture between RiNo, Woods Boss Brewery and a nearby park.
Being among these colorful murals always puts me in a great mood. I love creating amongst an urban jungle of artistic creativity. Jeremy, Keller and I walked around the murals, stopping for some of their favorites and some of mine as well. My favorite mural was a new piece by Hollis + Lana created during The Crush Walls (where artists come in to paint new murals in the RiNo Arts District). The mural was vibrant, whimsical and intricate, and even featured 3D flowers coming off of the wall.
Another favorite is the mural from the first image in this sequence, by Chris Huth. I love the whimsy in the colors and proportions of the blue astronaut, as well as the bold choice of color which always pops in images. With the black staircase creating leading lines, I always love the images I take while in this spot.
We finished this Denver LGBT engagement session with beers at Woods Boss Brewery and at a nearby park with their adorable three pups. With all of the dog’s energy it was a task to get them to look my way at the same time, but we did it with the help of my (very loud) tropical bird call. (Ask me to do it sometime…plug your ears first).
For only 90 minutes we packed in three locations, tons of murals, beers and pups, and got some amazing smiles, laughs and somehow managed to get a photo of all three dogs looking my way. Another successful shoot in the books!
