Nestled in the heart of Seattle, SoDo Park Seattle is a bright and inviting downtown wedding venue that stands out amongst the industrial hustle and bustle of the SoDo Seattle neighborhood. This urban oasis was the stage for Cam and Annie’s special day which kicked off with getting ready just a short drive away.
With Annie at her parent’s house, and Cam at his parent’s house (just down the street from each other), the anticipation was palpable as these two finished all their last details ahead of their first look in the garden of Annie’s parent’s home. With Cam all set up, facing away from the door, Annie slowly came down the steps of the back patio into the garden to see her groom. These quiet, emotional moments captured in the bride’s parents’ charming garden were a perfect precursor to the festivities awaiting them. (Look out for the photo of the bridesmaids taking photos through the kitchen window)!
With the first look behind them, Cam and Annie, along with us and their wedding party, all headed to SoDo Park Seattle for family photos, wedding party photos, and a few portraits around the downtown venue. When looking for great photo spots, I immediately bee-lined for the gorgeous teal wall that is on the side of SoDo Park. The rich color made everyone’s attire pop and made for the best background. After portraits, we got everyone tucked away in the upper level, while guests began pouring in to greet one another, sign the guest book, and get a cocktail. Soon enough, Annie was walking down the aisle and the two were officially a married couple.
As the day transitioned into evening, the mood at SoDo Park Seattle shifted from sentimental to celebratory. Cocktail hour led into Cam & Annie being announced and once everyone was seated, we were treated to three speeches by their maid of honor, best man, and the bride’s dad. The three speakers did a great job of telling the couple’s story as well as making everyone laugh with fun inside jokes and stories of their past.
Once they were done, everyone was invited to eat. We hugged the couple and headed out into the night eager to upload and start editing!
