The St Vrain is a beautiful industrial venue located in old town Longmont. In fact, it was voted best of industrial wedding venues by The Knot in 2018, 2019 and 2021. This St Vrain wedding for Molly and Troy was the first wedding that I had photographed there, and I was impressed with the beautiful interior.
When you first step into this venue, you notice the exposed brick walls and polished cement floors. There are ample windows and chandeliers that give the space a romantic and intimate feel. The level below contains two getting ready spaces, the bar and an open space for cocktail hour. It also leads out to the courtyard with yard games and outdoor furniture.
I was invited to second shoot this St Vrain wedding by Teresa Woodhull Photography, so when we arrived, I began photographing Troy and his groomsmen while Teresa started with Molly. Their getting ready room contained two separate spaces. One space with lockers, clothing racks and mirrors for getting the dressed, and the other space with a foosball table and room to hang out after you are dressed and ready to go. My favorite part of this room was the vibrant blue chair in the corner that I used to photograph Troy’s boutonnière and a solo shot of him.
Soon after, we headed back inside and prepped for the Troy to see Molly for their first look. They decided to do their first look inside on the main floor. Molly was wearing a beautiful white gown with a gold sequin bottom. I had never seen a color blocked wedding dress and I was all about it! After their first look, we headed to a nearby park for some portraits right as the sun was setting.
We returned and tucked Molly and Troy away for their ceremony. Their ceremony was beautiful and incorporated their love for beer by having a beer unity ceremony and a toast with all their guests. This love of beer continued with a wide selection of beers for their cocktail hour and also was incorporated into their dining table decorations with hops scattered on the tables between candles.
The evening ended with dinner, speeches, cake cutting and Molly and Troy’s first dance. Overall, I loved being able to shoot at the St Vrain for the first time and get to witness such a gorgeous fall wedding in Longmont.
