Located right on the water in Kirkland, the Woodmark Hotel is a gorgeous spot to tie the knot. With scenic views of the water and the mountains that glow every night at sunset, and the lush greenery and hydrangeas that drench the back patio, this hotel has become one of my favorite places to photograph. Clay & Luke also fell in love with this spot, and when they wanted to celebrate their marriage with a party, they decided upon a Woodmark Hotel wedding reception.
While Clay & Luke had already had a courthouse intimate ceremony with a few family members, they wanted to have a reception with all their friends and family, and wanted to curate an immersive experience for them. During the cocktail hour, they had a large crossword installation for guests to solve, a margarita bar with multiple flavors, an emerald green seating chart installation with custom luggage tags for each guest, and customized lawn game boards for guests to play.Â
But it didn’t stop there. As we continued into dinner and then into the reception, they converted the traditional ballroom into a Woodmark Hotel wedding reception first. The ballroom was draped floor to ceiling and converted into a speakeasy lounge with a checkered floor, couches, chandeliers, and two pianos in the center for a dueling piano serenade for dancing. They also had four different cakes for guests to try, and a whiskey bar complete with a wood smoker to enhance the flavors.
I was blown away by all of the details and ways that they created a space unique and meaningful to them, and it was evident that the guests loved it too. Looking to see other examples of weddings at the Woodmark Hotel? Check out Hank & Lauren’s wedding!
